Wrist curls vs wrist rollers

Hello! Stats: 19 years old, 170lbs, 6 feet So I’ve done a fair bit of research and realized that wrist curls are not a good exercise but I’ve seen that wrist rollers have been frequently recommended for forearm hypertrophy. However from my understanding wrist curls are frowned upon because the movement is unnatural and puts stress on the wrist joint which is a weak joint. But if I’m not mistaken it looks like wrist rollers forces you into the same kind of awkward movement with your wrists. Why are wrist curls bad when wrist rollers are good?
