Weightlifting vs Powerlifting Deadlifts

I’ve been delving recently into weightlifting from powerlifting (still an amature, but curious of all the benefits of the different types of training) and I couldn’t stop myself from noticing a big difference between the two types of deadlifts. On the “powerlifting” one you close the movement with anteversion of the pelvis, whereas on the “weightlifting” one all the athletes I’ve seen keep it in retroversion. Apart from the functional aspect (to not learn an improper pull for olimpic weightlifting) is there a deeper meaning for this difference? To what extent it can translate to different muscle activation?
