Other muscles get sore after shoulder workout…

I’ve been workout out for around 1-2 year now, but I’ve always had a problem with getting my shoulders sore, and other muscles getting sore instead. I work out intensively and have a pretty good mind/muscle connection to the delts. I’m not so sure what the muscle is called, but it lays right under the armpit and on my ribcage. For some damn reason, this muscle always seems to get way more sore than my shoulders themselves. Anyone else deal with this?
