How can I fit conventional deadlifts into my upper/lower body split?

I want to add deadlifts into my routine but I’m unsure of whether I should do them on upper body day or lower body day. Some people say do squats on one upper body day and deadlifts on the other upper body day but I like to do squats twice a week cause I want them to be the focus of my leg workout. Is anyone able to do both squats and deadlifts during their leg workout on the day. Just to clarify, I’m focused mainly on muscle building rather than strength so I’m not sure if deadlifts on really necessary in that case?
