How accurate are home scales when it comes to muscle mass and body fat?

I’m doing a recomp, and am able to lift more every week and my waist and midsection look smaller (I was kind of skinny fat) However my weight scale and the app (got from amazon) show I’m increasing in body fat as well as muscle (shows about 1-2kg of muscle gain weekly, but 3-4 kgs of fat increase) it also says my bf% is increasing I don’t feel like I’m getting fatter but is there a chance I am? Thanks
