For Hypertrophy and General Strength, you probably don’t need to Barbell Back Squat- A discussion.

I’d like to hear some thoughts on the Barbell Back Squat as it relates to hypertrophy and general strength. I’m currently running with the idea that if you have access to machines and speciality bars you actually have no real reason to do it. As long as maximum knee flexion is achieved, the lift or machine can be appropriately loaded and all sets are conducted with a high degree of effort I don’t really see a benefit to barbell back squats as it relates to Quad hypertrophy (or glutes for the most part) Front Squats, SSB squats, Leg Press, Hack Squats, all are perfect substitutes as the main compound lift for Quad training. Open to discussion, take me off my hill or come join me!
